Anti-Racists protest against McDonalds Islamophobic ban
Dozens of local people joined a Stand Up To Racism protest at Holloway Road McDonalds today.
They were responding to an incident at the outlet yesterday. A young woman wearing a hijab was barred from entry at this branch of McDonald’s on “security grounds”.
This is a shocking and blatant example of Islamophobia which is totally unacceptable.
While McDonald’s UK have now issued an apology the protestors were demanding a cast iron and public guarantee that such an incident will never again.
It’s worth noting that the incident happened amidst the controversy surrounding President Trump’s anti –Muslim retweet from the neo- nazi Britain First.
