Model motion to support the demonstrations against Trump and Tommy Robinson supporters

Please use the model motion below in your trade union branches, organisations and community groups. We need a major, united response to the rise of the far-right.

You can order materials for your local area/ local mobilisations from our website here.

This branch/committee/campaign notes
1) The planned visit by Donald Trump to the UK from 12-14 July.
2) The call by Together Against Trump for mass protests when the US President arrives with a national demonstration on Friday 13 July.
3) The 15,000 strong far right protest to “free Tommy Robinson” on Saturday 9 June that saw attacks on anti-racists and the police and Robinson’s supporters giving the fascist salute.
4) The plan by Robinson’s supporters to rally again in London on Saturday 14 July.
5) The launch of the unity statement calling for protests against Trump on 13 July and Robinsons supporters on 14 July published in the Guardian newspaper.
This branch/committee/campaign believes
1) That Trumps racist policies of forced child separation from migrant families, plans for the anti-migrant “wall” and his Muslim ban are fuelling support for racist ideas and the far right.
2) That Trump should face mass opposition when he comes to Britain.
3) That the fascist and racist right are using the “Free Tommy Robinson” campaign to rebuild and rally their forces.
4) That we cannot allow the forces of the racist and fascist right to rally unopposed on 14 July.
This branch/committee/campaign resolves
1) To mobilise for the Together Against Trump demonstration on Friday 13 July in London.
2) To mobilise for the Stand Up to Racism & Unite Against Fascism Unity counter-protest against Tommy Robinson’s supporters on Saturday 14 July
