Stand up to racism which organised the 100,000 strong ‘Refugees Welcome’ Demonstration on 12 September has organised a protest outside Conservative Party Conference responding to Theresa May’s speech today and to highlight the abdication of responsibility by the Conservative government regarding refugees.
We will be joining in solidarity with refugees in Calais to demonstrate against the inhumane treatment of our government which is refusing to take a fair proportion of refugees to Britain. With the harshness of winter around the corner, we will be calling on David Cameron to let them in.

The respones from government to the ongoing refugee crisis remains woefully inadequate. Britain has opted out as European countries agree a quota of 120,000 refugees, a small amount compared to the million plus people that are estimated to arrive this year.
