Press release: Charles and Da Costa families join Diane Abbott to demand justice for their sons

The families of Rashan Charles and Edson Da Costa joined shadow home secretary and Hackney and Stoke Newington MP Diane Abbott alongside hundreds of people at the local Police station today.

The families stated they want the police officers involved in the deaths of their sons to be suspended and held to account not for them to be simply treated as a ‘witnesses’ to the deaths.

The families will not rest until justice is done.

Weyman Bennett from Stand Up To Racism said: ‘We want the officers involved in these cases suspended rather than simply being used as witnesses so we can have a transparent process of justice’

‘We cannot simply allow the IPCC to brush these deaths aside’.
