Solidarity visit to Calais – a part of refugee week

For refugee week Stand Up to Racism and Care4Calais are working together to build solidarity with refugees in Northern France.

We will be travelling over to Calais on Saturday 23 June, and as always trade unionists will be going over in delegations.

The refugee crisis has not gone away. Refugees in France face desperate conditions thanks to the policies of the British and French governments.

Stand Up to Racism will be taking over donations and aid to support the incredibly important work that Care4Calais do to support refugees.

To make the event a success and bring over as many activists and as much aid as possible we need more cars to add to the convoy, so if you know anyone with a car who can come it would be a major help.

We will be travelling on the 7:50 am or 8:36 am train on Saturday and returning the same day on the 8:20 pm train. This is an £80 return trip which would be split between the 4 or 5 people in each car, working out relatively cheap.

For those staying the night the train to return on is 11:50 am on Sunday and we can recommend a local hotel for £50 per night.
