Stand Up To Racism has called a week of action across Britain to commemorate George Floyd’s death one year on, and in the spirit of the #BlacklivesMatter movement.

On Saturday 22 May, a major online international rally will take place, following daytime local actions and protests coordinated across England, Scotland and Wales. You can see the emerging list of actions here

On 25 May, anti racists will #TakeTheKnee everywhere across the country.

The TUC and Stand Up To Racism are calling on unions in every workplace to organise to #TakeTheKnee during the day at work, and then take part in the 6pm Twitterstorm as communities all over Britain #TakeTheKnee wherever they are. Content from actions at 6pm, as well as earlier recorded content from workplace actions should all be shared at 6pm using #TakeTheKnee and #UKisNotInnocent

The TUC and Stand Up To Racism have organised a mobilising meeting on Monday 17 May, 6pm, for trade unionists to discuss and build their actions for 25 May. Register and see speakers list here
